I am thrilled to announce that Donum Dei is moving to Bernal Heights this fall! At the onset of our search several months ago, we surveyed parents about what they would value most in a school facility. The most important features included safety, outdoor space, an accessible location within the city, and parking. Once again, God amazed us with provision far beyond our initial hopes and dreams!
Our new 16,000 square foot facility includes plenty of indoor and outdoor space including a playground, garden, 1.5 basketball courts, an auditorium, a sizable kitchen, library, teacher break rooms, and plenty of classrooms. It is centrally located at 1550 Treat Ave., requiring an average 20-minute commute from each of our families and potential reach to Daly City, Pacifica, South San Francisco, and the East Bay area. Our new home is within walking proximity to Precita Park, Bernal Heights Park, Garfield Park and sports fields, and various restaurants and cafes. The area is ripe with opportunities for connection with the community and one another.
You may recall that Donum Dei opened in 2019-2020 and transitioned online in March of 2020; we persevered online through the pandemic and returned back in person in the fall of 2021. As we move into Year 3, the map below shows Donum Dei's reach and influence in San Francisco and beyond. Check it out to see how God is moving through our classical Christian education and community!
We desire to be a place where Christian families can thrive in the city, joyfully partnering with parents, pastors, and educators in their respective fields to help educate and train students in the discipline and faithfulness of the Lord. Our new facility ushers in a wealth of opportunities to do just that, and will help to further establish and root us in San Francisco. We are thrilled to have inherited a blank slate to design beautiful spaces and create meaningful experiences for our pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. We can’t wait to see the ways the Lord works in and through our community in this new space.
