As a child I was afraid of the dark. There is something about darkness that we humans dislike. But in God's ultimate wisdom, He often does His most majestic works in the silence and the dark.

During this time of year as we head toward our fall break, I'm always grateful for the intentional rhythms of rest that our school practices. An invitation to abide rather than strive in our own strength.

Several days ago, I walked through the hallways and was caught by the sight of one of our students sitting with a teacher. That moment made me stop and reflect with joy and gratitude on how far they had come.

Our Admissions Director shares the questions parents ask most on a campus tour: technology in the classroom, class size, what parent partnership really means, and how discipline works at Donum Dei.

It was the second Field Day of the year and the four school Prefects unveiled a wildly imaginative new game: Puzzle Scavenger Banana Tag. A look at how the House System builds character and community.

Throughout the year, Donum Dei students are learning hymns that put words to the themes of our monthly virtues. The stories behind those hymns reveal writers who worshiped from circumstances that were far from perfect.

It's 8AM on an average Monday morning and Donum Dei students are seated for assembly. A look at what the ancient Greek idea of ekklesia, the called-out assembly, means for our school gatherings.

As we head into Fall Break, our principal reflects with gratitude on the first eight weeks of school and the many ways our community has witnessed God's presence at Donum Dei this year.

Donum Dei celebrated its summer reading challenge super readers, who clocked 84,572 minutes of reading over the break. But the real point of reading is shaping character and forming virtue, not tallying minutes.

Introducing The Faculty Blessing, a monthly time of reading aloud notes of praise for teachers and staff so that the whole school community can rejoice together as members of one body.

On Friday, August 11, the Donum Dei faculty and staff gathered to worship and ask for God's blessings on the new school year, adopting the annual theme "Working for the Peace and Prosperity of the City" from Jeremiah 29:7.

Welcome to the 2023-24 school year. This morning we opened our doors to 62 precious children as Donum Dei students. The first day of school symbolizes a new beginning, an opportunity for a fresh start with a clean slate.

Imitation is a powerful tool of formation. Our Friday assemblies inspire students through the stories of Christians worthy of imitation, from our youngest students to our oldest, and our faculty and staff too.

Rain Elchico, one of our Bridge students, wrote and performed a song expressing the nature of God in a creative way. What a gift it is to partner with families raising up men and women who worship Him.

On November 17th, Donum Dei hosted a Greek-inspired dinner for 20 friends across four Christian churches to share the rich tradition of Classical education and spread the Academy's mission and vision.
